President Obama wants to connect you or so it seems. On May 1st, 2009, the White House went social, as in social networking. Whether you use Facebook, Myspace or Twitter, you can keep up to date on the current events of the White House.
The information on the White House's social pages mostly links to the kind of information you'll get on the official White House website's blog, so no top secret documents or conspiracies sharing; but we can keep our eyes on VP Biden and his love of grim talk for those. The one thing I do like about President Obama is his continued "initiative" to stay connected to the common folk and having pages (informative or possible campaign seeds for re-election) on popular social networking websites shows this.
Could this be the framework for a more open White House, sharing of information with the citizens of the America or a sign of a government simply going with the modern times? This is still yet to be determined. For now if you like, you can befriend the White House on Myspace, becomes a fan on Facebook and/or follow them on Twitter. Just a note to whoever is maintaining the pages, don't let Joe Biden near the keyboard.- Socialism is Bad, Sharing also Bad?...
