Support for Obama Wanes

Entering year two of the Obama administration and I am reluctant to see any of the changes he had promised during his presidency campaign. What we have is trillions more dollars in national debt, increased job lost, a mingled health care proposal and weak economy. This is the change the liberals voted for and now according to a poll by the Wall Street Journal/NBC News "voters are less optimistic about his ability to succeed and no longer clearly favor keeping the Democrats in control of Congress".

On Tuesday, the Senate passed a "bill of rights" for credit card holders that will bring new restrictions in the credit industry. The bill could be approved by the House as early as Wednesday and will offer the following protections according to Consumers Union, publisher of Consumers Report.

Gas prices rise, so does auto fuel standards.

You may have noticed it at the pump, the price of a gallon of gasoline is slowing rising again. According to the AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the current national average price per gallon of regular gasoline is $2.31. In Connecticut where I live, the price is $2.43 per gallon of regular. I'm guessing President Barack Obama is noticing the rise as well, because on Tuesday he will propose the most aggressive U.S. auto fuel efficiency standards ever.

President Obama wants to connect you or so it seems. On May 1st, 2009, the White House went social, as in social networking. Whether you use Facebook, Myspace or Twitter, you can keep up to date on the current events of the White House.

Socialism is Bad, Sharing also Bad?

As some of you may know, I am a Republican. I am not the far-right conservative who spew crap like the Ten Commandments placards have a place in schools along with prayer or that if you can't speak English you must be deported out this country (although I think you SHOULD learn it). Conservatives have lately thrown the word Socialism around like there is no tomorrow (in their belief, there won't be unless President Obama is kicked out). This mud throwing has finally landed close to home. Not in the form of discussion with another adult but at the time an unapparent attempt of an eight-year linking parental rules with Socialism.
